Debit or credit card terms will change from January 1, 2022
News like lightning for all public and private bank ATM or credit card users. There will be major changes in the service charge for debit or credit card withdrawals from next year. This is because the RBI has decided to increase the ATM withdrawal charges of all banks. In fact, after completing the monthly free service limit, customers will have to pay an additional Rs 1 more than the previous charge, according to a new RBI notification.
To be clear, the debit or credit card terms will change from January 1, 2022. Currently, you have to pay Rs.20 for each transaction after the end of the monthly free service limit. However, under the new rules of the RBI, from January 1, 2022, after the expiry of the limit, Rs 21 will be charged for each transaction.
Speaking about the new RBI rule, the RBI said that no changes have been made on these charges since August 2014. Moreover, according to the RBI, the move was due to the banks' high interchange fees and lack of general escalation.
This means that from the beginning of the new year you will have to pay Rs.21 each time you withdraw from your bank after the ATM / Credit Card Free Transaction limit expires. That is, it will be debited from your account
